OUR ETHICAL CHARTER
Since 1968, we have been committed to designing and manufacturing the most beautiful and durable shirts possible.
This commitment could not be kept without the support of our historical partners – shirt manufacturers and fabric suppliers – with whom we have maintained close relationships for several decades.
Together, we share strong values of know-how and quality, as well as an unwavering commitment to responsible social and environmental practices.
INTRODUCTION TO OUR ETHICAL CHARTER
This charter formalizes the principles and values that guide our relations with our partners, and demonstrates our commitment to promoting responsible practices, respecting human rights and reducing our ecological footprint.
By signing it, our suppliers and partners commit to maintaining the highest standards in terms of working conditions, safety and environmental preservation, thus contributing to a sustainable and ethical supply chain.
-
01. Scope and commitment
This charter applies to all suppliers, manufacturers and subcontractors involved in the production of Figaret products, whether they are located in France or internationally. It covers all activities, from the supply of raw materials to the manufacture of finished products, as well as intermediate processes.
All Figaret partners must take the necessary measures to ensure compliance with this charter throughout the supply chain, including with their own subcontractors and partners. In the event of non-compliance with these principles, Figaret reserves the right to review, suspend or terminate the commercial relationship with the supplier concerned.
Common commitment: Figaret is committed to maintaining fair and loyal relations with its partners, while promoting open and constructive dialogue to support them in the implementation of ethical and responsible practices. -
02. Compliance with laws, standards and human rights
Figaret suppliers and partners must comply with all international and local laws, regulations and standards in force in their respective countries, in particular those relating to labor law, social protection, health and safety of workers.
In the event of a contradiction between national and international standards, the supplier must always apply the standard that is most protective of workers and the environment. Figaret may carry out regular audits, conducted by independent bodies or directly by our team, to ensure compliance with the requirements set out in this charter.
Respect for human rights: Each supplier must ensure that its employees benefit from a working environment that respects their dignity, safety and fundamental rights. No form of forced labor, modern slavery or discrimination will be tolerated. -
03. Transparency, traceability and authenticity
At Figaret, transparency is a fundamental value that we apply at every stage of our supply chain. We ask our partners to guarantee total transparency on the origin of raw materials, production processes, as well as working conditions.
We require full traceability of products, materials and processes throughout our supply chain. We favour partnerships based on mutual trust, where each step of the production process is verifiable and justifiable. Our partners must be able to provide, upon request, all necessary information regarding materials and manufacturing methods.
By implementing this approach, we assure our customers of a commitment to responsible and sustainable practices. -
04. Working conditions and workers' rights
At Figaret, we pay particular attention to the working conditions of the employees of our suppliers and manufacturers, who are committed to ensuring a safe, healthy and dignified working environment for all their employees, in accordance with local and international regulations.
Forced and Child Labor: We have a zero-tolerance policy on forced and child labor. All workers must be employed voluntarily, without coercion or threat, and must have the freedom to leave their employment with reasonable notice. All employees must be of the minimum age required by local law or, in countries where the legal age is lower, at least 16 years old.
Equality and non-discrimination: Every employee must be treated with respect and dignity, regardless of their ethnic origin, gender, age, religion or any other personal characteristic. We do not tolerate any form of harassment, violence or discrimination. Employees also have the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining if local law allows.
Compensation and Working Hours: Wages must comply with local laws and, in the absence of a minimum wage, must allow employees to maintain a decent standard of living. Overtime must be paid at a premium rate, be voluntary, and not exceed legal limits. Employees must also be provided with regular rest periods, paid vacations, and statutory holidays. -
05. Health, safety and well-being at work
Employee safety and health are top priorities. We require our partners to provide a safe workplace that meets the highest health and safety standards. This includes adequate ventilation, proper lighting, suitable infrastructure, and personal protective equipment made available to all workers.
Regular training should be organized to make employees aware of the risks associated with their position and the preventive measures to be adopted. Any work accident should be reported and followed by corrective measures to avoid any repetition.
If accommodation is provided for employees, it must be clean, safe and separate from the workplace, thus ensuring respectful and dignified living conditions for all. -
06. Environmental responsibility and sustainable development
At Figaret, we believe that fashion should be environmentally friendly. That's why we are actively committed to reducing our ecological impact and collaborating with partners who share this vision.
Our suppliers are required to comply with current environmental legislation and go beyond it, by adopting practices aimed at minimizing their ecological footprint. This includes responsible waste management, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, optimization of energy efficiency and sustainable management of water resources.
Eco-design and responsible materials : Figaret encourages the use of more environmentally friendly materials, such as sustainable, organic or recycled materials. We expect our partners to favor these alternatives in their production processes and to explore innovations that contribute to reducing the ecological footprint. While pursuing these environmental objectives, our priority remains unchanged: to offer products of impeccable quality. -
07. Anti-corruption and business integrity
Figaret has a zero tolerance policy towards corruption and unfair behaviour. We expect our partners to uphold the highest ethical standards in all their transactions, whether with Figaret or other parties.
No attempts at corruption, bribery or fraudulent practices will be tolerated. Any potential conflict of interest must be declared transparently. Figaret is committed to providing fair and equitable treatment to all its business partners and requires exemplary and reciprocal conduct. -
08. Sustainable relationships, dialogue and continuous improvement
At Figaret, we believe in business relationships based on transparency, mutual respect and trust. That is why we seek to build strong partnerships with our suppliers and manufacturers, based on open and constructive dialogue.
We are committed to working closely with our partners to identify areas for improvement and address today's challenges together. We favor partners who are continuously committed to improving their social and environmental practices, in order to build a responsible and sustainable supply chain.
